The Immaculate Conception Parish in Damar Village began in 1964 with a chapel built solely for the residents by the San Miguel Corporation, developer of the village. The Franciscan priests from nearby San Pedro Bautista Parish took turns saying mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation, until the late Cardinal Sin assigned the late Fr. Leonardo Marquez, a diocesan priest, as resident priest.
When Damar Chapel was placed under the jurisdiction of St. Joseph the worker Parish in Balintawak, Fr. Migs Cobarubias was assigned as resident priest. he organized the chapel council. When Damar was declared a quasi parish, Fr. Ernani Denolo was appointed pastor. The Immaculate Conception Parish was decreed as such by the late Jaime Cardinal Sin on August 22, 1987. The decree likewise stipulated the inclusion in the parish of Grace Village and part of Barangay Balingasa. Fr. Kurian Thalachirakuzhy from Kerala, India, was installed as the first parish priest.
In 2003, Cardinal Sin, appointed as parish priest the Filipino-Chinese Fr. Peterson Tieng, a member of the Lorenzo Ruiz Mission Society. He was asked especially to respond to the needs of the Filipino-Chinese in the parish. As parish priest from January 2003 to April 2009, Fr. Tieng worked for the active participation in church affairs and projects of the Filipino-Chinese and of the marginalized parishioners outside Damar.
