Diocese of Cubao celebrates 16th year of canonical establishment

"Ours is a community that constantly seeks renewal. This renewal takes place when we constantly return to our source, the Word of God, the Eucharist, the daily presence of Christ, and the power of His Spirit in our lives. This gives our Church youthfulness."

That was the opening of the homily of Most. Rev. Honesto Ongtioco, DD, during the mass for the celebration of the 16th Anniversary of the Diocese of Cubao last August 28. He further emphasized that, "in order to keep moving forward, we should keep drawing water from the fountain of the Savior." As we are also celebrating the Year of the Youth, he mentioned the importance of the youth to the Church, because "their idealism can be a beacon of light to push us forward along the paths of the Gospel".

Afterwards, the new Parish Pastoral Council officers and members were formally commissioned, which was led by Rev. Fr. Jun Pascual, Episcopal Vicar for Pastoral Concerns. Before the mass ended, Rev. Fr. Fredrick Edward Simon, Chancellor, declared Sto. Nino de Violago Chapel in E.Rodriguez as a new quasi-parish. Rev. Fr. Steven Zabala delivered the closing remarks, thanking everyone for the constant support for all the events of the Diocese. With all these achievements and celebrations of our Diocese, may we continue serving our parishes with enthusiasm and fervor.
