The original residents of the GSIS Village were government employees who were awarded houses and lots under a loan scheme, through a raffle conducted by the Government Service and Insurance System (GSIS) in 1963.

In the late 1960's, through the residents' concerted efforts, a chapel was built in the center of the present park. From a survey conducted by the chapel officers the Holy Family was unanimously chosen as the patron saint of the village chapel, which was administered until 2003 by the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish on Jersey Road, Project 8. In April 2003, the Holy Family Chapel community became a quasi-parish under the pastoral care of Fr. Aloy Aliño, vicar forane of the Sto. Niño Vicariate, to which the Holy Family Quasi-Parish belonged. Fr. Oliver Inchody, CMI, was appointed as the first parochial vicar of the Holy Family Quasi-Parish. Two other guests of the diocese served as parochial vicars – Fr. Rey Gella and Fr. Nick Salamanca. Finally, on March 21, 2009, Fr. Herbel Torres was installed as the first parish priest of the Holy Family Quasi-Parish.
