The Veterans Village, where the Christ the King Parish is located, used to be known as Magsaysay Village. Since it was a government housing project originally intended for the veterans of World War II, its name was changed to Veterans' Village in 1956. Being the seventh government housing project, it adopted the name Project 7. The whole village was then still part of the Sta. Rita Parish.

The Veterans Village community felt the need to have a church of their own. With the cooperation of the faithful, a church was built, and its inauguration and first mass were presided over by Msgr. Pedro Bantigue on February 19, 1961. Finally, later that year, on August 3, 1961, the Christ the King Parish was formally established, and Msgr. Arturo Mendiola was installed as its first parish priest. Through the years, the parish community has grown in number, and many different ministries have been formed to meet the needs of the community. A parochial school was established in 1991.
