The Sacred Heart Parish Shrine Culminates Its 75th Jubilee Celebration

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Shrine in Scout Ybardolaza Quezon City formally closed its Jubilee Holy Door for its 75th anniversary of foundation.

A Eucharistic Celebration on September 29, 2017 was officiated by Cubao Bishop, Most Reverend Honesto F. Ongtioco, D.D, and concelebrated by the shrine's Parish priest, Father Jerome Marquez of the Society of the Divine Word, together with other S.V.D. priests.

The shrine was canonically erected on October 3, 1941 and dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as its patron. Reverend Father Theodore Buttenbruch SVD was appointed as its first parish priest.

The year-round celebration of the shrine's 75th jubilee began last October 1, 2016 with a Mass and the opening of the Holy Door through which the devotees could gain indulgences upon entering and doing the prescribed spiritual activities. Last year, the parish was also declared as the Diocesan Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. (Cubao Media)
