Pope Francis named the 57-year old Italian Archbishop Gabrielle Giordano Caccia as the new Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines last September 12, 2017.
Born in Milan on February 24, 1958, Archbishop Caccia was ordained a priest on June 11, 1983. Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Apostolic Nuncio to Lebanon on July 16, 2009, and he was consecrated bishop on September 12, 2009. He served as Assessor for General Affairs of the Vatican Secretariat of State.
Archbishop Caccia will replace Archbishop Giussepe Pinto as the Vatican’s Ambassador to the Philippines. (ME/Cubao Media)
