Poland Prays for Peace during "Rosary to the Borders"

A rosary rally for peace, called "ROSARY TO THE BORDERS", was held along the 2,000 miles of borders in Poland,  around its Baltic coastline, and in Polish airports .

It took place on October 7, 2017, the feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, and also the 446th anniversary of the decisive victory at the Battle of Lepanto, during which the Holy League of 1571 arranged by Pope Saint Pius V , and led by Spain and the Venetian empire, saved Europe from invasion by the Ottoman Empire. The victory was attributed to the intercession of our Lady, and the power of praying the rosary.

The event also references the centenary of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to three shepherd children in Fatima Portugal, when Our Lady asked the faithful to pray the Rosary for peace.

The prayer rally took place in 320 churches near Poland's borders and in 4,000 prayer zones. The prayer event, spearheaded by the Solo Dios Basta Foundation, began with a Eucharistic celebration, followed by the praying of the rosary.  An estimated 1.5M Catholic Poles took part in the event across Poland, and even those who were unable to travel to the borders prayed the rosary at home.
