Parishes Bring the "Holy" back in Halloween

Several parishes in the Diocese of Cubao have reclaimed Halloween: All Hallows Eve or the night before the feast of All Saints, by organizing March of Saints.

Dressed up as their favorite saints, children are taught to imitate the holy men and women of God who fought the good fight, and have shared in the victory of Jesus Christ over sin and death.

While commercialism and westernization has encouraged children to go Trick-o-Treating dressed up as devils, goblins, vampires, and other evil creatures, the Parade of Saints aims to evangelize not just the children but the adults as well, about heaven and the Communion of Saints. The Solemnity of All Saints is celebrated on November 1st by the Universal Church in honor of all the saints, whether known or unknown.
