Diocese of San Pablo Hosts Vocations Jamboree

The Diocese of San Pablo hosted the 4th Regional Vocation Jamboree 2017, with the theme "Your Call Sounds Familiar", at the Amonte Sports Arena in Biñan City, Laguna, on November 4, 2017.

Led by its Vocations Director Rev. Fr. Fortunato Dumlao,  120 participants from the Diocese of Cubao attended the said event. Around 2,000 young men and women from the Ecclesiastical Province of Manila joined, too.

The day began with a festive encounter with the image of the Nuestra Señora de los Dolores de Turumba, the patroness of the diocese. There were several talks, one given by Rev. Fr. Paul Villacarlos. There were presentations as well by priests, brothers, and sisters from the diocese.

During the afternoon sessions, the youth had the chance to have encounters with representatives from the different religious congregations who were present there, like the Dominicans, Franciscans, Augustinians, among others. The priests, sisters, and brothers shared about their charism, mission, and vocation stories.

The vocations jamboree culminated with the Eucharistic Celebration presided by His Excellency San Pablo Bishop Buenaventura Famadico, D.D. He expounded on the Gospel reading, as well as shared his own  vocation story, and said that "Choosing one’s vocation is not magic. Vocation discernment is a process."

After the Mass, Bishop Famadico blessed the youth, and prayed over their vocation. He announced that the next Vocations Jamboree in 2018 will be hosted by the Diocese of Antipolo.
